Mission
Bridges to Success helps all children succeed by removing barriers to student achievement through building enduring partnerships between families, schools and communities.
History
Bridges to Success, a community school initiative created by IPS and the United Way of Central Indiana, was piloted in 1993 in four elementary and two middle schools. Today 17 elementary schools are proud Bridges to Success Schools and the initiative serves nearly 8,000 students, their family members and communities.
Goals
- Assure student success.
- Maintain and increase enduring partnerships.
- Develop schools as community hubs.
- Develop parents as partners in their children’s education.
- Promote the healthy development of students by helping to remove the barriers to academic success.
